Is S&N NatureProvisions a Canadian company?

Yes. S&N NatureProvisions is a Canadian-owned and packaged brand. While our cocoa beans are sourced directly from trusted local farmers in the South West Region of Cameroon, all final packaging and customer fulfilment are handled in Canada to help maintain quality, consistency, and a reliable customer experience.

What makes your cocoa beans different?

Our cocoa beans are single-origin from Cameroon and prepared using traditional methods hand-harvested, naturally fermented, and sun-dried. We do not add preservatives or process the beans, allowing you to experience cocoa in its purest form.

Are your cocoa beans raw?

Yes. Our beans are considered raw and minimally processed. They are fermented and sun-dried to develop flavor naturally, without roasting or chemical processing.

Are your products organic?

Our cocoa beans are grown using natural and traditional farming practices no synthetic pesticides or chemicals. We are currently working on obtaining our organic certification. Check out our product page for the latest updates.

Do your cocoa beans contain any additives or preservatives?

No. Our cocoa beans are 100% natural no additives, preservatives, or artificial processing.

Are your cocoa beans sorted before packaging?

Yes. Our cocoa beans undergo sorting before packaging. However, because cocoa is an agricultural product grown and processed in natural outdoor environments, small traces of natural material such as husk fragments, soil particles, or other field-related debris may occasionally remain.

We recommend visually inspecting beans before consumption, roasting, or processing. While we take quality control seriously, no agricultural product can be guaranteed 100% free of naturally occurring remnants.

Will every batch taste exactly the same?

No. Cocoa beans are a natural product, and flavor can vary slightly between harvests and batches.

Factors such as rainfall, soil conditions, fermentation methods, drying practices, and seasonal growing conditions can all influence flavor. These natural variations are part of what makes specialty cocoa unique and authentic.

Rest assured that all our cocoa beans are single origin from the South West Region of Cameroon

Why do some cocoa beans vary in size, shape, or color?

Variation is completely normal in natural cocoa beans. Because cocoa is an agricultural product, individual beans can differ in size, shape, color, and appearance from one another even within the same batch. You may notice beans that are lighter or darker in color, slightly larger or smaller, or have minor surface imperfections.

These natural differences are influenced by factors such as the cocoa variety, growing conditions, harvest timing, fermentation, and drying methods. They do not necessarily indicate a difference in quality or freshness. In fact, these variations are often a sign that the beans have undergone minimal processing and remain close to their natural state.

Is it normal to find broken or chipped beans?

Yes. While we strive to package beans carefully, some breakage can occur during harvesting, drying, transportation, and packaging.

Whole cocoa beans have a naturally brittle shell, and minor chips or broken pieces are common. This does not affect the quality, safety, or flavor of the beans.

Why do raw dried cocoa beans taste bitter?

Raw dried cocoa beans naturally have a bitter and astringent taste. This is completely normal and is a characteristic of authentic cocoa.

Unlike chocolate products, our beans contain no added sugar, sweeteners, milk, or flavorings.

Many customers enjoy the beans as a natural snack, while others prefer to roast or process them to develop a smoother flavor profile.

Do I need to roast the beans before eating?

You can eat them as they are, but many people prefer to lightly roast them to enhance flavor and reduce bitterness. It depends on your taste preference.

How can I use raw cocoa beans?

Our cocoa beans are versatile and can be used in many ways:

  • Roast and crack into cocoa nibs
  • Grind for homemade chocolate
  • Add to smoothies or desserts
  • Enjoy as a natural, nutrient-rich snack etc
Are your cocoa beans suitable for vegan or gluten-free diets?

Yes. Our cocoa beans are 100% plant-based, vegan, and naturally gluten-free.

Where are your cocoa beans sourced from?

All our cocoa beans are single-origin sourced from the Southwest Region of Cameroon, known for its rich soil and ideal cocoa-growing conditions.

Do you work directly with farmers?

We prioritize ethical sourcing and our cocoa beans are sourced directly from the local farms in the South West Region of Cameroon, West Africa, to ensure quality, pureness, and sustainability.

How should I store the cocoa beans?

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the pouch sealed tightly to maintain freshness and flavor.

Do you offer different sizes?

Yes, we offer multiple sizes to suit your needs, including 500g and 1kg pouches. Availability may vary.

Why do your prices change from time to time?

We believe in being transparent about pricing. Cocoa is a globally traded agricultural commodity, and the cost of sourcing quality cocoa beans can fluctuate significantly due to factors such as weather conditions, harvest yields, global demand, transportation costs, and market conditions.

As a result, our prices may increase or decrease over time to reflect actual sourcing costs. When market prices fall, we aim to pass those savings on to our customers. When sourcing costs rise, occasional price adjustments may be necessary to maintain the quality and sustainability of our supply chain.

Our goal is always to offer the best possible value while continuing to source high-quality cocoa beans.
